[owncloud-user] php5-fpm 100% CPU

Hi folks,

I know my currently running version of OwnCloud is not recent (6.0.2) - but I
would have to do some major upgrade if I had to change it.
So far - I'm running it in an OpenmediaVault installation - with the
difference that it is connected to a DB.

Now - most things work nice without a problem. Contacts sync. and calendars.
Except for one large calendar where we put all our Family planification data
into. Means - we have in average 5 entries per day, and this makes it rather
large.

Now - as soon as I try to sync that calendar - the php5-fpm goes to 100% CPU
Load for a long time.

In the beginning, I had to increase the Memory in php5-fpm (from default 16MB
to 128MB) an the timeout values from 30s to 300s in the nginx proxy timeout
settings - I however am still getting sync issues with Ubuntu-Phone, Kontact
(KDE Suite), Android and Calendar App from OS-X 10.5.

The nginx Logs show up as follow:

2015/08/28 13:43:23 [error] 36434#0: *2591 upstream timed out (110: Connection
timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client:
::ffff:10.0.2.3, server: owncloud, request: "REPORT
/remote.php/caldav/calendars/smurphy/viequotidiennenas_shared_by_manue/
HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm-openmediavault-
owncloud.sock:", host: "nas.solsys.org:8443"

2015/08/28 13:58:15 [error] 36432#0: *2779 upstream timed out (110: Connection
timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client:
::ffff:10.0.2.3, server: owncloud, request: "REPORT
/remote.php/caldav/calendars/smurphy/viequotidiennenas_shared_by_manue/
HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm-openmediavault-
owncloud.sock:", host: "nas.solsys.org:8443"

Looking through the forums etc. - I tried everything they have proposed there
without actually finding a fix that works here.

Using:
php5-fpm 5.4.44-0+deb7u1
ginx     1.2.1-2.2+wheezy3
openmediavault   2.1.11

Has something been found that identifies the source of this issue ?

Thx
Cheers
Joerg
